How to convert a photograph to a 3d mesh. The ease of use of the program is easy to see in the screenshot below, simply bring in your image and see the constructed solid within seconds!
The think to note in the example above is that the original image of the flower is only 170 pixels square, and yet the smoothing and limiting operations of the program creates a perfectly acceptable mesh! Of course if you do have better quality images you can reduce the smoothing slider to show of the contours better:
You choice of smoothing option also depends on what you want to do with the mesh. If you send it to a numerically controlled machine the smoothing will probably be higher than if you send the mesh to a 3D graphics program. |
