Dxf 2 Xls (how to convert a DXF file to a XLS file)

Just drag the DXF file into the main window of Pointor and select which type of entities you want to be considered as points. For example CIRCLE entities orn POINT entities. If you choose POLYLINE entities then the vertices of the POLYLINEs will be imported into your point list:

DXF to XLS settings dialog

In the above example there is a single polyline and all the points in that polyline will be used to make a pointlist.

Then simply use the "Copy Point List To Clipboard" function in the Edit menu:

and paste the clipboard into your Excel spreadsheet. Of course once the pointlist is in the clipboard you can paste it into any document which accepts text.

This is just an example of what Pointor can do with point lists, the toolbar below shows you other operations which are possible:

DXF 2 CSV 2 DXF 2 XLS

If you have some point data you would like to view in Pointor, but are you unsure as to which format to try please contact me. Almost all the formats in Pointor have been suggested by customers.

If you have data which includes multiple sequencies which you want to show as individual polylines (rather than a single long polyline) then click here.
