Convert from Dxf to robot positioning coordinate file.

You can use Pointor to convert a 2D DXF file of lines and arcs to a text file for robot positioning. Here's the screenshot for how to read in the DXF file:

RoboReps compatible DXF reader

Now simply save the file using the file menu, Save pointlist to new format item:

DXF reader and convertor for robot DXF files.

Choose P X Y Robo, as shown above, and you'll get a pointlist something like this:

P00001 313.797 269.075 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 0 0
P00002 297.168 280.317 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 0 0
P00003 279.043 288.943 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 0 0
P00004 259.830 294.757 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 0 0
...

The separators are spaces and Pointor only fills in the first three columns, point number, X and Y. This format output option is only available in the PRO version of Pointor.

A demo available which means you can test it on your own DXF files to see if it meets your requirements. (If there is a format Pointor do not handle please contact me.)

From a happy customer: "I was working on a surveying class project and I needed to input 400 points. And I did not want to do it one at a time. I am new to AutoCAD but I was just about able to stumble through the process. With Pointor though, it was a doddle!. Thank you."
