Lists of points in Excel and Access and the clipboard
|Top Previous Next|
If you have a list of points in Excel (or Access) which you want to import into AutoCAD you can either use the clipboard or save the Excel sheet (or Access table) as a text file, for example as a tab delimited file. When using the clipboard the delimiters (separators) will be tabs.
For example copy the table in Access (control-C) and paste it into Pointor (control-V).
When using Access (and sometimes Excel) via the clipboard you might find it better not to select the top row of data (field names) which may give rise to a point at 0,0. If it is unavoidable that the top row is selected you can tell Pointor to ignore it in the options dialog.
