You may get a message like this...

...when you open a DXF file to extract data from it.

 

Some DXF files are viewed, inside AutoCAD, with a DVIEW TWIST which is not 0. Which means that the view of the drawing is rotated, even though the actual data (lines points circles etc) aren't.

 

Pointor ignores DVIEW TWIST settings and shows the data in a standard global view, so you may find the image rotated compared with what you see in AutoCAD. The data however are unchanged.

 

You can use DVIEW then TWIST in AutoCAD to find out the current settings.
