Layer names from descriptions

Sometimes it is useful to create layers in the DXF files based on the description of the point. Of course this option will only work for formats and files which have descriptions associated with points. Use the options dialog to do this. Here's an example of doing it for the coordinate text:

The above data is in X Y Z Desc data format. Pointor ignores everything after the description. The layers created will be "DRAIN PIPE", "OUTSIDE WALL" and so on.

 

You can choose to put any of these things onto the layer by description:

 

1.The point itself.

2.The point's code.

3.The point's coordinates.

 

WARNINGS:

1.Not all CAD systems accept DXF files with layernames with spaces or other "strange" characters in them, for example + / \ ?.
2.Not all CAD systems accept layernames more than 31 characters long.
3.If you have a different description for every point then you will get as many layers as you have points. This is not normally what you want.
