This effect (1 of 150 available) turns your images into a photo in a newspaper, with the characteristic half-tone dot effect:
Once you have opened your image file you will be given the choice of effect to apply to it:
Now you can click on OK or Next Example or Fine Tune. The fine tune "newsprint" dialog box is easy and self explanatory, as you can see from the screen shot below (you don't need to be an expert, or understand in "layers", "selections" and so on):
Double clicking on the newsprint image will give you the same dialog so you can change the settings if you want, for example change the dot size. The bigger the dot size the darker the image. Here is another example.
