Dxf to XLS (Excel)

If you want o go from a list of points and or polylines and or circles in a DXF file to a point list in an Excel file this utility is for you:

Even though the above diagram says "saved as a point list" the program can also copy the pointlist into the Windows clipboard and simply paste it into Excel, as show below:

Copy point list to clipboard

Next you will get a dialog where you can choose the format you want to put in the clipboard. It is almost identical to the "Save pointlist to file..." dialog, except it does not have the CR5 format.

Which delimiter you choose can depend on which Excel (or other spreadsheet) you are using. I've found that "Tab" is a good option most times.

Click on OK and the point list is in the clipboard, ready to be pasted into Excel (or Access or Open Office come to that!). This is the branch on the right in the image below:

Pointor also opens point list files, which you can also copy and paste into Excel.

A free demo is available so you can test the program on your own data:

"I investigate car accidents and sometimes I can create an Excel file with the vehicle positions, at other times we get the police point measurements. In these cases I need to import the points file into Autocad. Yesterday I was in a hurry to get the files imported, and your product did the job immediately!"
