Repligator Tutorial 1 : Getting Started

In this tutorial you will see how to use Repligator to transform your images with special effects. (Later tutorials will explain how to have more control over the effects you choose).

If you are using the PRO version (the demo version is a PRO version) make sure you switch on the Image Import Wizard, as shown below:

Step 1) Open an image by clicking on open-icon in the toolbar. Here is an image of a swan:

Step 2) You will be asked if you want to change the brightness and contrast of the image:

Usually you can leave the settings as they are, though you might like to use them to increase the brightness of  very dark images. Click on "Next-->" to continue:

Step 3) You will be asked if you want to rotate the image:

In the example above you can leave it as it is and click on the "Next-->" button.

Step 3) You will be asked if you want to crop (select part of) the image:

Again just leave it as it is and click on the Next button.

Step 4) You will be asked to choose an effect. Click on the name of the effect you want to apply:

For example select "Blue China" from the list. Ignore for the moment the Fine Tune button, and click on the example buttons (under the preview image on the right of the dialog) to find a new image which you like.

Step 3) Click on "apply filter" and you will get an image like this:

You have chosen the Blue China effect and applied it to your image.

Step 4) Now, to get a completely different effect click on F7-Icon in the toolbar, (or push the F7 function key). Repligator will create another version of your image, for example:

Push F7 (or click on F7-Icon) a few more times to create a few images.

Step 5) Now you will select an image you like, and save it. To do this you need to be able to choose which image(s) you want to save. You can do this using the cursor keys on your keyboard to go "backwards" and "forwards", or click on the green arrows in the toolbar:

If you click on the icon in the middle of the green arrowsSeq-Ov-Icon you will get a dialog box which shows you thumbnails of the images you have created. For example:

Here you can use the cassette player type buttons (at the top of the dialog) to move backwards and forwards among the images you have created. Click on the image  you want to go to.

Step 6) Saving your image: Once you have found an image you want to save simply click on the save-icon icon or use control-S.

Tutorial 2: Creating multiple images quickly.
